The MxN Grid Platform is designed to communicate between heterogeneous digital media systems. This enables the roll out of large digital media networks consisting of thousands of digital media systems. The platform enables communication between each Node so that they can interact independently or co-operatively to become a powerful coherent entity.
Security and Communication |
Utilizing the latest standards in web services, The platform allows for the transfer of XML data over the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). HTTP allows us to leverage existing corporate infrastructure and bypass potential issues that firewalls and gateways may impose. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology is used to tunnel the private communication between Nodes to ensure privacy and security at the communication level.
|
Extensibility |
The MxN Grid Platform employs a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to allow for loose coupling among the interacting Nodes, providing a fault forgiving Grid. This loose coupling is achieved by utilizing simple and ubiquitous interfaces between our Nodes. Extensibility is vitally important to our system, thus the use of SOA allows for continually improvements and the easy deployment of additional services to each Node within the Grid.
|
Coordination |
Via the Web Service Description Language (WSDL) each Node’s services is exposed and published to a cluster of Universal Description, Discovery and Integration Registries. The nodes can communicate with each other to perform simple data transfers or coordinate between themselves to accomplish a target activity.
|
Freedom |
Based on XML, our infrastructure is platform independent. MxN has developed a J2EE commerce and management application using the Microsoft .NET architecture for Node services. This allows for an open market place where different media systems can actively communicate and compete with each other.
